TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMMER [Posted July 27, 2011]
Inkling Games is seeking a talented Technology Programmer to assist in their twin goals of award-winning game creation and eventual world domination. An ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the inner workings of modern game engines, with particular familiarity in: occlusion, lighting and shading, animation and skinning, effects, and post-processing techniques. They will also be familiar with the tools and pipelines used for game asset creation, and possess a knack for finding elegant solutions to complex artistic and game-design challenges.
Requirements -
- Working with artists and designers to extend an existing engine to support the unique elements of a new console title.
- Profiling and tuning systems for maximal performance.
- Writing, testing, and documenting functional, maintainable code.
- Assisting, as needed, in a wide variety of simple gameplay-related programming tasks.
- Having solid communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to tackle difficult problems.
Experience Required --
- Expertise in C/C++
- Familiarity with methods used in modern rendering systems, such as occlusion, lighting, animation, and effects.
- General knowledge of the tools and workflow used by artists and designers.
- Excellent debugging and profiling skills, and the ability to come up to speed quickly on an already existing code base.
Experience Preferred --
- Familiarity with the Unreal 3 engine.
- Familiarity with developing for the XBox 360 platform.
- Familiarity with modern game systems outside the scope of rendering, such as: collision, physics, memory management, and level streaming.
